Keeping the house spotless

About Me

Keeping the house spotless

I just can't relax unless the house is clean. I recently broke my ankle and have been laid up while my family keeps making a mess all around me. It was driving me mad so I have been getting in a cleaning service 3 times a week just to make sure that the house isn't destroyed by the time I can move again. I am starting this blog to keep me occupied and to help out the rest of the mums out there that have had similar accidents and need to keep sane while their house is turning messy around them!

Butlers on a Budget: How Middle-Income Mums Can Have Their Own "Household Staff"

Love them or hate them, there's no denying that the richest of the rich live a cushy life. Even if you find the idea of live-in nannies and guest-house gardeners to be gratuitous, can you really say you've never fantasized about putting your feet up for a few hours while someone else took care of the chores? Well, maybe you can. While real in-home staff are unaffordable for middle-income families, there's still a way for you to have your own version of a household maid. Here are 3 tiring errands you can "outsource" to give yourself some more me-time.

Wearisome Walking Your dog's adorable face never seems quite as cute when he's sitting at the door expectantly, waiting for his daily walk. Dog walking can be arduous even for the fittest housewives, and those 30 minutes a day quickly stack up to almost 200 hours a year. If you're not lucky enough to have children old enough and energetic enough to walk Fido for you, don't worry. There's certainly someone else in your local area who'd love to take on the job. From dog walking agencies to local unemployed teens, there are numerous options available to you – and they'll even pick up the poop along the way too!

Dreadful Decluttering When you're trying to balance childcare, cleaning, cooking and a whole host of other household tasks, it's easy for bits and bobs to mount up. One minute, everything's tidied to perfection. The next, you find yourself wading through stacks of files in your home office or rifling through a jungle of clothes you don't need in your wardrobe. While you might find organising unbearable, there's actually an association of people out there who do it professionally. Check out the Australian Association of Personal Organisers to find someone who will turn your mountains into well-organised molehills.

Laborious Laundry Laundry can be one of the most tiring tasks of all. From sorting and carrying armfuls of clothes to folding your husband's shirts and trousers, the never-ending cycle can make you feel like you've been thrown in the washing machine yourself. Thank the heavens for mobile wash & fold laundry services. With just a dial of the phone, you can get a professional to collect your dirty laundry and deliver fresh, folded clothes right to your door. Don't be the average mother who wastes five months of her life cleaning clothes when there are washing services happy to do it for you.
